"Focus"
This sculpture shows a Grand Prix dressage horse performing the most difficult and collected movement in the Grand Prix test, the Piaffe with power, elegance, softness and self-carriage. What makes this moment in time special is the horse's focus, relaxed but attentive, while performing a movement requiring maximum physical effort while not moving forward. Notice the slightly loose reins and the snaffle bit. This horse knows his job and doesn't have to be forced to do this very difficult movement.
"Focus" is available at a special pre-casting price of $3845 until Christmas. At that time, his price will go up to full retail, $7700. As always, payments can be made in thirds or we can break it into smaller increments if need be.
In clay, Focus is 12 7/8" H x 14.1/2" L x 2 1/2" W without base. It will be slightly smaller in bronze (bronze shrinks). It will be mounted on a walnut base.
You can order "Focus" in full color bronze (in muted colors similar to the color photo of the rider and horse shown) or in French Brown (traditional bronze color), as a collector's piece (on a single wooden base) or on a trophy base (such as those shown in the Trophy Gallery). If you want a trophy base, there will be an extra charge for materials and labor. We can do bases with up to 50 brass plates around the base if you want to note each winner, or just one big trophy plate naming the trophy and what it's for. Lynda Sappington will be happy to discuss details with you at your convenience. Please email her at Lynda@thesculptedhorse.com or call her at 513-932-1907.
