Jurors for the 2008 Dancing Horse Farm Equine Art Show

Elin Pendleton of Riverside, California, says, “I jury on design, which covers most all the bases; then anatomy; then story.” Elin is the 2008 co-president of Women Artists of the West, a full member of the American Academy of Equine Art and the Equine Art Guild. She is not only a well-known painter and instructor but also the author and digital editor of six painting instructional DVDs, one each in oil painting, acrylic painting and plein air, as well as a series of three DVDs on "Colorful Oil Painting" highlighting her unique system to understand color use easily. Elin’s also known for her “Color Boot Camp” workshops, as well as her sense of humor and generosity in mentoring student artists. Her website is Elin Pendleton. You can join her “Daily Painting” group at Your Daily Painting. She is the author of The Art of Acrylic Painting, Painting Horses in Acrylics, and The Artists' Sourcebook from the Walter Foster Publishing Company, and her work is included in books by Nita Leland on being a creative artist.

Patricia Getha of Ostrander, Ohio, is known for her drawings, painting and photography. Primarily a commission artist, she is a member of the Delaware Artists Guild, The Dublin Area Art League, and the online, International Equine and Canine Art Guilds. She has won numerous awards, most recently from prestigious shows like the Draft Horse Classic and two BIS in Photography. Her website is Patricia Getha. Pat is the co-author of Drawing Horses, a Walter Foster Publishing instructional book, which will be available in February 2008. Pat is a contributing artist for a second book, Drawing Horses and Ponies, which is in the production process now and will be available in November 2008.

Yvonne Kitchen of Talent Oregon, says, "While I look first at structural correctness, it is not the end all, as stretching anatomy in the interest of design or the story can be very effective. It is the overall impact I am looking for." Yvonne is primarily a self-taught sculptor whose eye for anatomy was trained by being the wife of a veterinarian. She has just been accepted as an Associate Member of the Society of Animal Artists following acceptance as an Associate Member of the American Academy of Equine Art and an Associate Member of the Women Artists of the West. She is also a member of the Equine Art Guild, Pacific Northwest Sculptors, Southern Oregon Society of Artists and The League of Animal Artists of the American Academy, and an Associate member of the National Sculpture Society. Her work has won numerous awards in many prestigious shows. She has taught sculpture workshops in Canada and Oregon. You can see her work at Yvonne Kitchen
