Volume 9 Issue 1

"Elegance"

"Elegance" is finished and being cast the foundry now! "Elegance" is 23" long x 10" high (at the top of the neck) without a base. This handsome stallion and Friesian Chaise will be mounted on a trophy base and will be the Course d'Elegance World Championship Driving Trophy for the Friesian Horse Association of North America, and will be presented in late October 2007 at the Clark County Fairground, Springfield, Ohio - and I'll be there with my booth! Y'all come! "Elegance" is also available as a fine art edition of 15 mounted on a walnut base. $5400 plus s/h. You can read more about this piece here: "Elegance" and see the process I used to create the carriage here: Carriage Progress.

Second Edition of "Sculpting 101" Coming Soon!

The first edition of my "how-to" book on sculpting is nearly sold out! I only have four left - order yours today! I've been writing novels the last couple of years, and my first one, "Star Sons 1: Dawn of the Two" is coming out fairly soon (hopefully during August 2007!). As soon as that book is out of my hair, pre-production-wise, I'm going to start revising my sculpting book. I'll be adding a chapter on the carriage-building process I used (all of which I had to make up from scratch - there are no how-to manuals on making carriages for sculpture! None I could find, anyway!). You can read more here "Sculpting 101: A Primer for the Self-taught Artist". The second edition, like my novels, will be available on Amazon.com and other such sites when available for ordering.!

Pre-Casting Special on "Horseplay"!

My next bronze (other than "Elegance") will be "Horseplay", which many of you saw me working on at Equine Affaire in Mass., in 2006. You can read more about it here: "Horseplay". It shows my horse,Jack, playing with my hubby's horse, Pepper, both of them rearing as high as a horse can go without falling over backwards. Those who order this bronze will get a copy of the photo to prove to doubters that horses really DO rear that high, and that these two are playing, not fighting! Pre-casting Special Price: $3000. Regular retail: $3500 Shipping/handling charges apply. Please see the web page for more details.

Show Schedule
My next show is the FHANA World Championship, Clark County Fairgrounds, Springfield, Ohio, October 25-27, 2007. Y'all come!
My next show after that is Equine Affaire, West Springfield MA, November 8-11. Watch my Upcoming Shows page on my website for additions to my show schedule for the year.
