I get lots of requests for information on methods and materials. I also sometimes forget some tip somebody told me, or some trick I figured out myself. So I've created this page to remind myself of those things, and to help others on their quest to improve their artistic skills. Here you will find links to "how to" pages I've created on various topics. The titles will be self explanatory, and in no particular order. Links to these pages are not on the general links list, just on this page, so save this page to your "Favorites." It will be updated from time to time. Most of these pages have links that take you further into the process being explained, so please follow all the links given in the text of the page. Enjoy!

If you are serious about learning to sculpt, whether as a hobby or a profession, you might be interested in a book I've written, Sculpting 101: A Primer for the Self-taught Artist which is now out in its second edition. If you would like information on this book, please email me by clicking this link: Book@thesculptedhorse.com. You will not be obligated to buy when you send this e -- it is for information purposes only. The book sells for $19.95 plus shipping and handling and includes several new chapters, including one on shipping raw clay, one on shipping finished sculptures and one on how to build a carriage.

Also, I will be teaching a sculpture workshop May 21-23, 2010, at the Marienthal Country Inn, Eden NY. If their link doens't work, contact me - they've been working on their website recently.
